Description: These frames were made of sticks and whittled from cigar boxes by surfmen at the Islesford Life Saving Station during their spare time. The photo shows the Main Road in circa. 1920's before it was paved. The photo and frame hung in the Spurling house and was given to the Islesford Historical Society by Cara Spurling in 2005.

Description: Hadlock and Dwelley later became brothers-in-law by marrying respectively, Edna and Ada Campbell of Islesford. They may not have known eachother at the University. Dwelley from Franklin, ME was a freshman in 1904 and Hadlock from Islesford, was in the Law School

Description: The Woodlawn Inn was built by George Henry Fernald for George and Edna Gilley, circa 1893. After Edna's death it was closed in 1909. James Ray and Ada Dwelley reopened the inn in 1911 and ran it for over 40 years. Three people in the front yard of Woodlawn House.
