Description: Charles K. Savage (Milbridge 1903-Northeast Harbor 1979), designer of Thuya Gardens and The Asticou Azalea Gardens, first chairman of the Mount Desert Larger Parish, selectman for the Town of Mount Desert, representative to the State Legislature and member of local committees, including the Town Planning Board and the Chamber of Commerce. He was also manager of the Asticou Inn in Northeast Harbor and member of the Acadia Corporation. In 1928 he became First Trustee of the Asticou Terraces. Held the position of Town Code Enforcement Officer and Building Inspector; trustee to the Northeast Harbor Union Church; Director of the Northeast Harbor and Seal Harbor Water Companies and the Northeast Harbor Neighborhood House; Chairman of the Northeast Harbor Library's Board of Trustees; member of the Village Improvement Society. Hartford (1917-1988), daughter of Harry Lee and Adelaide Maud (Smith) Hartford on May 1, 1937 in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Harold and Avis had two children together, Lura Rae and Brian Lee. Harold W. Dolliver died on January 29, 1998 in Southwest Harbor, Maine.
Description: Leza is one of the Southwest Harbor Public Library's most ardent volunteers. She has been important to the Friends of the Library, a member of the Board of Trustees as representative of the Friends, has served on numerous committees and has photographed countless library functions, particularly the garden tours, both for the brochures and as a record of the tours. Renowned as a sculptor, she commissioned portrayals of contemporary celebrities. Her sculpted works are organized in groups such as: "Clowns" (7377), "Circus" (7378), "Mosaics" (7379), "Bas-relief" (7382). She is also known for her "Paintings" (7380), "Charcoal drawings" (7381) and "Pencil drawings" (7383).
