Contains text descriptions of Mount Desert Island, Cranberry Isles and Mount Desert Rock with specific references to their locations in relation to Mount Desert Island, Maine. It shows, with lesser emphasis, the place names: Bar Harbor, SW Harbor, NE Harbor. Contains enlarged window showing Mount Desert Village (Somesville). Description of MDI mentions the incorporation in 1838 of "Seaville," a group of islands that included Bartlett's, Robinson's and Hardwood Islands in 1838. This incorporation was repealed in 1859. Description: Heirs of Jacob Somes (John J. Somes, Leonice K. Somes, Kate Y[?] Stevens, Adelma F. Joy, Ann R. Fennelly, William Fennelly) quit-claim to William P. Smith land described in document. This deed is to correct an error or omission in a former [1887] deed of the same premises. Furthermore, in this document Rebecca T. Somes, widow of Jacob Somes relinquishes her "right of dower in the above described premises..."

Description: Bill from W.B. Campbell to H.M. Hobart of Chicago for researching (?) title of the William P. Smith lot in Mt. Desert. This Hobart is likely the same person listed as Hovert in 015.FIC.033.14.
Description: Faded yellow photo album. The back still has some bright yellow, but the front and binding are worn and faded. There is a metal emblem on the cover, 1”x2”. There is a metal clasp on the sides of the back and front covers, but it is missing a clasp to connect them. The back cover has circular metal fastenings in each corner. The album has 22 leaves with spaces for photos on each side. There are photos in all but the very last space. The inside of the cover and the first page are white and textured. Written on the second page is “Annie Walker, December 25, 1882.” Printed opposite is “Photographs” in large eloquent letters on a scroll design. Description: From a note, possibly as display label, inserted in the notebook: Charles Eliot's notes on the early explorers of the New England coast. This notebook was probably compiled in 1881-1883. Some of the notes were used in S. A. E's "Mt. Desert" Two pages have been cut out from the start of the notebook. Pages have been numbered with a sequential stamp. The first remaining page is 5. The last numbered page is 288. In most of the notebook there is writing only on the odd pages - the right page of an open two page spread.
