There is no top. The circumference is about 5 inches. The neck is curved but the rest of the bottle is rectangular in shape. The base is 1 and a half inches by three quarters of an inch. It is transparent but the glass has a light green tint. Going up on one side is "3 -in- one oil co." and "Three In One" on the other side.

There is a cork top present. The neck is 1 and 3/4 inches tall. There are four 2and 1/2 by 7 and 1/2 inch "arch ways" embossed on the faces of the bottle. Large, wooden “Hitty”, chainsaw-carved and donated by Michelle DelValle in September 2005, clothes sewn by the artist's mother, and coral bead necklace made by Bruce Komusin. DelValle started out carving bears and figures, and began carving and selling dolls online in 2000. After many requests to carve Hitty and reading Hitty: Her First Hundred Years by Rachel Field, which is set at GCI's historic William Pitt Preble house, DelValle began carving small Hitty dolls. In the summer of 2005, work began on a life-size Hitty in the Crazy Mountains of Montana. Hitty's head and torso were carved from a solid Douglas Fir log, her arms from Lodge Pole Pine, and legs of Douglas Fir. She was sanded, distressed, and hand painted, then drilled and pegged to fit the arms and legs to the torso. (See DelValle's web page: TreeFolkHollow.com.) Hitty dolls are usually small and flat; this is the only life-size model. Hitty has a large following including fan clubs with newsletters and websites, newly-made Hitty dolls and furniture, and modern day adventure stories. Devotees visit GCIHS in the summer. Her executor, Ruth Moore, made a gift of Eleanor’s photographic collection in 1988. The Eleanor R. Mayo Collection of more than 772 images consists of negatives, contact sheets and prints, many of which are photographic copies Eleanor made from various family collections belonging to Mount Desert Island residents, now long dead. Eleanor spent years on historical research that she compiled in the extensive indexes (Mayo Volume I and II) also part of the collection. I was the library archivist when the gift was made and subsequently worked on cataloging the collection from 1988 until 2006.
