Description: This is a typical ledger, measuring 8 x 10 and 1/4 inches. It has a black cover with a faded red binding and matching red corners. The title of the ledger is written on a white label with red borders in cursive writing. It reads, "Union Meeting House Society Records". The first entry is the text of the application made to the state of Maine to become an incorporated parish and religious society under the provisions of chapter 16 of the Revised Statutes of Maine. There are the transcribed notes of the first meeting and the signers of the bylaws. The records appear to span 1914-1931. Story chebacco boat and the project of MDIHS to sail this vessel from Essex to Mount Desert Island in 2013 to commemorate the voyage of Abraham Somes in 1762 that brought Somes and his family to Mount Desert Island. Description: A DVD that contains a 2 minute video, narrated by William Horner, that describes the Chebacco Project hosted by MDIHS in collaboration with the Essex Historical Society and Essex Shipbuilding Museum, Massachusetts, during the summer, 2013. The video was made as a short film that could be used for various audiences (board, community, funders, etc) to describe the scope and intent of this project. The video used in this film was shot during the Chebacco visit on the island by Peter Logue, resident of MDI. The film is attached to this record. Description: This is a booklet of perspectives designed by COA dated 1980 of the Somesville Museum. It is seven pages and the drawings were done by various people, possibly students of COA. For example, Herb Foote; Ron Johnson; heidi Dexter; Katie Van pine; Abigail Goodyear; Ellen Sullivan; and Dwight Lampher. The pages measure 18 by 24 inches. These designs depict the museum with a porch and a second story.
