Collection of ceramic sherds; white clay pipestem fragments; doll parts, and small finds. Collection of artifacts recovered by donor 1970s-1990s from his property - the historic William Pitt Preble house built ca. 1827. Items donor recovered outside behind the kitchen include sherds of brown, green, purple, red, and blue underglaze printed wares (one "Indian Tomb" pattern (ca. 1830)). Some printed ware sherds with scalloped and some with smooth edges, most are of buff paste and white on reverse. Blue, green, and white edged earthenwares. One sherd underglaze blue, sponge or splatter pattern. One sherd blue/grey stoneware. Four white clay pipe stem fragments measured by donor 2013/2014 and remeasured 2015. Doll's arm marked 'Germany' = 0.093". Small finds: larger doll arm; blue cut glass bead, pocket watch key, tiny wood button, fragment of small metal collar, fragment of what may be a bone toothbrush head. There are two drawers in the base, each of which originally had two drop pulls. This settee now (2023) has one handle (left) on the right drawer and none on the left. The blue upholstery on the seat and back is stained, and the wooden base shows sign of extensive wear. This settee is one of two and these appear in early photographs of the Fleet House. These are identical to a pair of lights used as ceiling fixtures inside the north door. Two of these lights are painted blue, and two are painted red. When facing the windows, the red lights are closer to the viewer, and the blue lights are closer to the exterior (northern) wall. These lights are accessioned in a clockwise order starting on the left, with the red light (2022X.02.043.A). The blue light at the northwest corner of the alcove is 2022X.02.043.B, the blue light at the northeast corner of the alcove is 2022X.02.043.C, and the right light at the right is 2022X.02.043.D [show more]

This wooden plate was added when space ran out on the original Hessenbruch trophy (2022X.03.028.A). The plate is made of wood and has the name engraved around the rim. At the center top is a Fleet burgee, with Northeast Harbor Fleet engraved below. Fifty brass plaques are screwed into the surface of the plate, with the names of winners engraved on them as follows: 2008 – John C. Henry, Junior. 2009 – T.
