Donor info - from Eugene Merchant house (donor’s father) former Dr. Kendall Kittredge house outside historic district. Believed to belong to Dr. Kittredge (1773-1857).
Description: Pair of woman's brown leather lace-up, high-heel shoes with leather soles and pointed toes. Size 39. Marked "Crossen Shoe". Right toe very scuffed and worn. Soles worn, especially on right shoe. Marked inside: "39 1 24649 1 Class 1222 957". Toes have inset piece of a second brown letter with stitching along border . Description: Infant's sun dress with lace at hem, neckline and arm openings. Embrodered flowers in center bodice panel. Back panel crosses to closing with snaps. Stains.
Description: Two badges all round with red background and ruffled edges of light colored silk. Silver emblems pinned on badge, One badge has two silk braided tassels. Red silk with two loops on the back of the badge. Could be hung on a cord around the neck.
Description: White fabric belt and yellow metal Grand Army of the Republic buckle and clasp, with five-pointed star with seal and letter GAR on the buckle. Clasp at end of belt. Fabric has yellowed, but is in good condition. This buckle belonged to John Willman Smith of Prett Marsh. He served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Civil War.
