The photographs are of the Gymkhana, which was an event held on August 31, 1904 to benefit the Northeast Harbor Library. The albums were assembled by Katharine Lowell Roosevelt and later Mrs. J. Stanley Reeve (Katharine Roosevelt Reeve). Gymkhana is an equestrian event involving timed games and speed races. These items were passed down from Katharine Lowell Roosevelt to her daughter, Katharine Roosevelt Reeve (mother) to Katharine Reeve Draper Schutt (daughter, donor).
